This research is aimed at acknowledging the breakthroughs and innovations performed by the Asih Putra Islamic Elementary School turning it into a quality and competitive Islamic school. Amidst the Islamic Elementary School education units that are still dealing with various resource limitations, particularly related to the fulfillment of the financing standards as well as facility and infrastructure standards, the Asih Putra Islamic Elementary School has been moving far forwards with various innovative breakthroughs. This research is a qualitative research. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, observations, and documentation. The research results in finding that breakthroughs have been made by performing reform in management, improvement in teachers’ quality and competency as well as administration service, innovation in curriculum, diversification of financing sources, and making innovations to attract stakeholders’ support. The Asih Putera Islamic Elementary School has successfully escaped from the problems faced by Islamic schools in general. The Asih Putra Islamic Elementary School has successfully changed its image from a marginalized Islamic school into a superior Islamic school that is attractive to public and able to survive with numerous achievements.Downloads
